The design challenge
The car needed to dominate the frame while the typography and environmental details remained legible. I used light and depth to separate the subject from a deliberately dark setting.
Cultural references
Art direction
Fog, night lighting and cinematic framing draw on street-racing imagery. Japanese-inspired typography and the RX-7 FD provide the cultural cues; contrast keeps the layout readable.
Final composition
The finished poster puts the car at the center and lets the light, texture and type build the scene around it.
Outcome & application
The piece extends Sore Losers Club’s JDM references into a standalone poster. It provides a visual direction that connects the brand to the culture it draws from.
